A chest of silver bullion
My grandfather used to tell me this story when I was very young. It doesn"t sound very authentic to me today, but at that time I was really impressed and it often helped me relax and fall asleep. Well, it goes like this. Three hundred years ago, there was a ship catastrophe near at the Atlantic Ocean. One of the crew members was a very rich person and he was trying to transport a chest of silver bullion from Portugal to England. The ship started sinking suddenly. There was a huge storm and it was difficult to see anything, but the man somehow managed to put his chest into a lifeboat. He was travelling with his stepson, whom he really hated, but on that night, the boy managed to jump into his stepfather"s lifeboat. It was 4 in the morning and in no more than half an hour, the ship disappeared under the surface. The two survivors couldn"t see any other people around them. They had been drifting in their lifeboat for two days and two nights when they arrived at a small island. Soon after their arrival, the stepfather got poisoned and died. His son managed to survive on the island for seven months. Then a group of Brutish sailors saved him. The boy took the chest with silver bullion with him and became very rich himself. He bought a mansion by the sea and soon opened a hotel.
